She arrived at the Sanctuary in 2004. She lived at Circo Garcia for 15 years confined in a small cage. When we rescued her from the circus, we had to saw her cage so that Bruna could be removed from her own cage, as her size prevented her from getting out. From a very young age, Bruna was kept in that same cage and as she developed without ever leaving, at the time of rescue she was bigger than the cage door. For this reason, she suffers from claustrophobia to this day, due to the trauma of living in an extremely small place. Come rain or shine, she prefers to stay in the open spaces of the enclosure, mainly in the baskets on top of the little houses, where she makes her nest to sleep peacefully. Despite this trauma, she is calm, kind and docile and lives in peace with her brother Carioca.
