Gilberto

It arrived at the Sanctuary in 2002 from a former commercial breeding site, where it was used for reproduction. He is the father of Noel and Emílio and other chimpanzees born at the Sanctuary: Pedrinho, Luiza and Yasmin, but he also has several children that he doesn’t know about, as they were sold by the breeding center. He lives with his family, in one of the largest groups in the Sanctuary. He loves to play with the puppies, he is a great father and at the same time he is a dominant male and very territorial, always protecting his group.
